In 2010, she started her bachelor degree in Yıldız Technical University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Economics. At the end of the first year of the university, she went to England to improve her English and studied at Eurocentres Cambridge Language School for three months. Upon her return, she passed the university's Erasmus Exam in English, succesfully, ranked in the top ten in her department's grade average and was awarded a state scholarship to study English and economics at Skövde University in Sweden for one semester. After studying there, she returned to her home country and completed a short-term internship program in audit at PWC and a long-term internship program at Doğuş Otomotiv - Aftersales Services in her last year at school.
After graduating from Yıldız Technical University, she took the Türkiye İş Bankası Assistant Specialist Exam and succeeded in it. From October 2015 to June 2022, she worked and completed her training at Türkiye İş Bankası in various fields such as human resources management, project management and analyst, media and communication strategies, media planning and purchasing. In parallel with her working life, she continued her academic studies and completed her master's degree at Bahçeşehir University Institute of Social Sciences.
Since June 2022, she has been working as a Senior Specialist in the Corporate Communications Department of the Turkish Capital Markets Association.

Elif Gönençer is currently the Deputy Secretary General of the Turkish Capital Markets Association (TCMA), responsible for the Corporate Communications Department, the Research and Statistics Department and the Training Department. She is heading the organization team of this year’s Turkish Capital Markets Congress.

Prior to that position, Elif Gönençer worked at the Capital Markets Board (CMB) between 1997 and 2021, as Expert and Senior Expert in various departments (Intermediary Activities, Research, Enforcement, Accounting Standards) and most recently heading the Licensing and Registry Group at the CMB and served as Chairperson of the Examination Board of the Licensing Registry and Training Services Co., Inc.

Elif Gönençer graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Business Administration. She earned a double master’s degree in Advanced European and International Relations as well as in European Union Relations from the Centre International de Formation Européenne (CIFE) / Institut Européen des Hautes Etudes Internationales (IEHEI) as well as from Bahçeşehir University with studies in Istanbul, Nice and Berlin. In addition, Elif Gönençer earned another Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from Anadolu University’s Faculty of Economics, Department of International Relations (in English) in 2021.

After graduating from the Middle East Technical University, Department of Economics in 2006, she started to work as a finance specialist at Polyone Turkey. She has been working in the Research Department of the Turkish Capital Markets Association since 2007. After receiving her Master of Business Administration degree from Istanbul Technical University in 2013, she continues to the Phd in Business Administration at the same university.

After graduating from Yıldız Technical University, Faculty of Educational Sciences, she completed her master's degree in Human Resources Management and Planning at Istanbul University, Faculty of Business Administration. She completed MLS College Public Relations, Advertising and Communication program in England in 2000 and Public Relations Certificate Programs with Bilgi University, Betül Mardin in 2015. She graduated from her second undergraduate degree in Brand Communication and Management in 2021. Since 2000, she has worked in various institutions in the fields of Education, Human Resources and Corporate Communications.

Oğan worked in the Education Directorate of the Turkish Capital Markets Association between 2004-2012, and as of 2013, she has been working as the Corporate Communications Manager in the same institution.
